It’s important to implement self-care into your daily agenda. Having a self-care routine reduces stress, increases happiness, and contributes to an overall healthier lifestyle. As of 2022, almost 30% of employed people work from home in the U.S. Here are some useful tips in creating a self-care friendly home!
Open Your Curtains
Natural light is one of the easiest ways to boost your mood, combat seasonal depression and get some extra vitamin D! Why do you think people love summer so much? Vitamin D has many benefits including improving bone health and boosting your immune system. So, smile, open your windows and let some sunshine in!
Keep Your Space Clean
Keeping a clean home environment will help reduce anxiety, prevents the spread of germs, and helps you become more productive. It also looks better. Who wants to spend time looking for things you need? Organizers will help hold storage and other things you need. Clean commonly used surfaces often and tidy up!
Relax and Rewind in the Restroom
Restrooms and bathrooms are meant to be functional. It’s the perfect room to add self-care too! Draw a warm bath, take a long warm shower, and light your favorite candles. Add some soothing music and unwind while you get clean.
Calming Colors
Need a paint refresh? Find peace and serenity in your favorite household rooms. Consider calming colors when picking out paint colors for the walls. Especially in your bedroom. Sage, light blue and lush lavender are some great choices.
Designated Spaces
Use each room for beneficial purposes. Do you have a room for just exercise? Do you have a favorite room or area to journal in? Is it quiet, peaceful, and away from distractions? Working from home? Create a work only space away from where you rest. Having trouble sleeping? Consider removing large electronics from your room. Whatever the activity is, make sure it’s suitable for what you’re doing!
Add Plants and Flowers
Did you know that plants offer many benefits? Aside from being good for your skin and producing oxygen, plants also boost your mood and eliminate air pollutants! They also reduce stress and enhance the appearance of any space.
